Employment International (EI) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website, apply for positions advertised by EI and Candidates Curriculum Vitae’s we source from Job Boards, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Who are we?

EI is a niche recruitment consultancy, providing recruitment services to both client organisations and candidates. Our registered address is: Cornelius House, 180 Church Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 2DJ. Company registration number is; 07083475.

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website, for example:

  • When you contact us about a vacancy advertised.
  • When you apply for a position advertised by EI on a third party website.
  • When you have agreed to publish your details online on a Job Board or Networking site, such as LinkedIn.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, contact telephone number, personal identification documents such as passport or driving licence and proof of address such as a utility bill. As well as career history information which is contained within your curriculum vitae or published online.

We may also collect financial information such as bank account details if you are providing contract services through EI to a third party organisation.

How is your information used?

EI will only use candidate’s information for legitimate business purposes, which includes;

  • Match candidates suitability to vacancies
  • Identify suitable companies of which we would approach
  • Answer enquiries relating to an application
  • Carry out pre-employment screening
  • Maintain relationships with clients
  • To alert candidates in relation to job opportunities via phone calls and email

Your information will be held in line with our data retention policy.

Who has access to your information?

EI will not share any personal data to any third parties unless one of the following circumstances arise;

  • You provide permission to EI to share your personal information with organisation’s you are potentially seeking employment with
  • We have been instructed to do so in order to comply with a legal obligation
  • It is necessary for the performance of a contract through EI to a third party
  • You are seeking employment with a third party organisation through EI and in order to establish suitability we will share personal information which you have supplied to EI. This will only be provided with your permission.
  • It is used for the purposes of a legitimate business interest in gaining employment

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may transfer your personal information to a third party as part of a sale of some or all of our business and assets to any third party or as part of any business restructuring or reorganisation. However, we will take steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

Your choices

You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. We will only contact you with a genuine shared business interest, such as a vacancy which is relevant to your skills and experience or to update our records as to whether you are interested in new vacancies.

If you do not want to receive any communications from us in relation to job opportunities then you can simply reply to the employee who has contacted you or email [email protected] We will record this on our database and cease further communications unless we have a genuine reason to believe you are seeking a new role at some point in the future. This could be in the form of your CV being updated on a Job Board, receiving an application from yourself or seeing a change in your employment circumstances on social sites such as LinkedIn.

We will not contact you for communication purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted. You can change your communication preferences at any time by contacting us by email: [email protected].

How you can access and update your information

The accuracy of your information is important to us. We’re always working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that we hold about you. If any of your personal data or any of the other information we hold related to you is inaccurate or out of date, please email us at: [email protected]. We will respond within one month to any requests to alter or update personal information. Where we are unable to comply with your request we will provide reasons for failing to do so.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information EI hold about you. In most circumstances the information will be provided free of charge. In certain circumstances we may charge a fee to cover the administrative costs for the retrieval and provisioning of the information if the request is complex. You have the right to request to have your data erased. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure any personal information disclosed to third parties is also erased.

Security of your information

EI have Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information. When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. All our data, including emails are held in a globally recognised secure cloud based system. Financial information such as bank account details are held privately within our password protected accounts function. Our emails are sent using the TLS standard.

Use of ‘cookies’

Like many other websites our website uses cookies. It will collect statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns and do not identify you as an individual.

Our website may contain links to other websites run by other organisations. This privacy policy applies only to EI so we encourage you to read the privacy statements on the other websites you visit.
